MGAA Forum Participation
RULES
As a participant on this forum, it is your
responsibility to know and follow our rules. Please read this
message in its entirety.
Rule #1: Be nice, be respectful, be polite.
Disagreement and discussion are fine; flaming and personal
attacks are not.
While the moderators prefer to take a somewhat "hands off"
approach and allow posters to talk out their differences, we
will edit or delete any posts that we feel are excessively nasty
or excessively personal. When threads become overly nasty, we
will issue a warning; if that warning is not followed, the
thread will be closed.
Remember everyone has
the right to his/her opinion.
Rule #2: The primary purpose of this board is to
discuss issues, not individuals.
We prefer that discussions be of the general, rather than
specific, variety -- please leave out names and specifics unless
they're integral to the discussion.
Under no circumstances may you allege that any specific
individual or organization has done anything illegal, unethical
or abusive, unless what you're saying has been documented as
fact in court or in print
somewhere (bulletin boards don't count!) and you can back your
statements up.
While you are welcome to comment on a fellow participant' s
posts or behavior on the forums, we discourage making other
forum members the primary topic of conversation.
Rule #3: You
are responsible for your statements.
This is not your tack room, and what you say can be read by
hundreds or thousands of people. (Possibly including people
you're writing about.) Please post responsibly -- just because
you might be posting anonymously does not give you license to
say things that you wouldn't want attributed to you.
Rule #4: NO advertising is allowed
on the
MGAA Information forums.
This includes horses for sale/wanted, jobs available/wanted,
services available/wanted, etc. We also do not allow pricing
topics. Limited advertising is available in the
MGAA Classified forum.
Rule #5: Please keep personal conversations
personal, and off the boards.
Posts should be of interest to everyone, not just a select few.
Use personal email or private
topics if you're only addressing one or two people.
Rule #6: You may not post a copyrighted photo taken by a
professional photographer unless you have purchased that photo.
Do not post proofs. Do not copy and post copyrighted photos from
other websites.
Rule #7: Please do
not post pricing topics.
Because people in the past have used pricing topics to try to
surreptitiously advertise horses or equipment they have for
sale, we no longer allow them. So please do not post asking how
much a pony, saddle,
trailer, etc. is worth. The post will be deleted.
Email the person posting the classified ad directly. Do
NOT use the forum to negotiate your price.
Topics asking about pricing in VERY GENERAL TERMS will be
allowed, as long as you are not indicating that you personally
have such an item for sale. If you're not sure if a question you
want to ask is allowed,
contact the moderators and ask.
Rule #8: Respect the instructions of your
moderators.
If you have a concern, address it in email, not on the board.
When instructions are ignored, threads will be shut down.
Rule #9: If you don't follow the rules, your
membership will be revoked.
The decisions of your moderators are final.
Rule #10: Please don't feed the trolls!
The fine print:
Although the administrators and moderators will attempt to keep
all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for
us to review all messages.
All messages express the views of the author, and the nether the
MGAA Board of Governors nor the MGAA Forum Moderators will be held responsible for the
content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules when you registered a username, you
warranted that you will not post any messages that are obscene,
vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise
violative of any
laws.
The MGAA Board of Governors and the MGAA Forum Moderators reserve the right to remove, edit,
move or close any thread for any reason, and also to revoke
membership for any reason.
